Drive-In Movie Night

We went to the drive-in movies Friday night. This is our 3rd year to do this fun family activity. This time we saw Gnomeo and Juliet, Tangled, and Tron was the third movie, but we didn't stay for it. Those third movies just run too late for us, plus we didn't think it would be appropriate for the kids, plus Roger already saw it in the IMAX theater when it first came out. The first movie was okay. If you know the story of Romeo and Juliet, then it's interesting to see how they used that story and put it into a kids' movie. Tangled was really good. Roger had taken Lauren out on a daddy/daughter date night when it first came out, so they had seen it already. Lauren actually fell asleep about half way through the movie at the drive-in. Evan and I really enjoyed the movie--it's not just a girly princess movie. Most of the other families left after Tangled just like we did. The weather was too chilly to sit outside, so we all sat in the truck and it was comfortable and worked out just fine. The kids were in their pjs, and we had brought blankets and pillows so we were comfy-cozy. We got some food from the snack bar instead of bringing any of our own, but that's a fun part of the drive-in movie experience we like to do. Right now, the cost was only $10 for a car load, but it will probably be raised when summer comes. Even with the prices of the snack bar, combined with the $10 admission, we definitely spent less money for two movies than we would have for one movie at a regular theater. So much fun!
