A few weeks ago we went to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus. I really do believe that this circus is The Greatest Show On Earth. We got there an hour early and got to be up close and personal with some of the performers and animals. It was my first time at Intrust Bank Arena and wow are those seats crowded. If one person had to get out of the row, everyone else had to literally stand up to let them out because it was impossible to climb over people's knees. The kids had a great time. Lauren was literally on the edge of her seat the whole night and Evan kept saying wow. I was just as excited as the kids. Can't wait for the next time we go!

Mini Vacation 2
We got to go with Roger again to Missouri. For a couple of nights we were in Washington, a couple of nights in St. Louis, and one night in Kansas City. Again, rented a car, and hardly spent any money for activities.
In Washington we discovered they have an aquatics park so we spent a few hours there. It was so nice and definitely rivals any area YMCA water parks. For the kids and I to get in--a whole whopping total of $9!
In St. Louis we wanted to go up the Arch, but were having a problem finding close parking and lots of signs and advice about needing to purchase tickets ahead of time in case they were sold out. How awful would it have been to pay for parking only to find out there were no more tickets for the Arch? We decided not to take that chance. The kids and I were planning on going to the zoo, but it was so hot we opted for an indoor activity--the children's museum called The Magic House. It is THE best children's museum I have ever been to. We were there for a total of 5 hours and it was definitely worth the price we had to pay for admission. I have several pics from the museum in my slide show, but there were so many rooms activities that I didn't get pictures of.
In Kansas City we stayed in the Hyatt Regency on the 31st floor. I've never ever stayed in a hotel like this before. The elevators shoot you up so fast that every time it came to a stop my ears would pop like when on an airplane. We were able to go to the Crown Plaza mall a couple of times just by walking through the enclosed Sky Links above the downtown streets.
I am so glad we got to get out of town again. It's nice to get away even if you don't do too much touristy activities. The kids were once again happy just to swim mostly. It was another great time.

Dairy Queen
We are heading back to Missouri tomorrow with Roger and our first stop is the town of Washington. What does my son remember about this town we were just in about 3 or 4 weeks ago: "Mom, can we go back to their Dairy Queen?" LOL

The Good and Bad
I've been sad this week. This is a year of giving up things for me. But, in exchange there are good things happening. One of the huge things happening is that I may have to give up my dream anniversary trip this year, but it's for a great reason...Roger is going on a missions trip to El Salvador in a few months! I am very excited for him. I can't wait until I can blog all about that with hopefully some pictures.

Us: Lauren is that you who stinks?
Lauren: Yes, it's my pits.
Us: You need to get them cleaned.
Lauren: Can I get some of that pit cleaner like you guys put under your arms?
Us: You mean deodorant?
Lauren: No, it's pit cleaner. It makes it smell good.

New Blog
I started a new blog. I'm so excited! It's my way to help hold me accountable to finding joy, and something to pray about and give thanks for every day. I really don't have a problem doing any of that, but I want to be able to "journal" it or blog it daily. Maybe it'll also help other people who read it. I hope you enjoy it!
