Our 15th Anniversary

We had a great time celebrating our anniversary in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. We went out one night for  dinner at an Italian restaurant that is underground. Without asking, when it was our turn to be seated we ended up in a corner--very romantic. The waitress was very nice to take this pic of us.

Cave Exploring in Glenwood Springs

We took the tram up the mountain to a fun park--can't remember the name of it right now. While there, we explored a huge cave--one of the biggest and best I've ever been in. This was another part of the trip that I really enjoyed!

 Pic below are tree roots!
Do you see the fairy dancer below?
Cave bacon.

See the lion's tail?
The next picture is of a swing at this fun park that swung out over the mountain. We watched it for a minute while on our cave tour and we saw someone's show fly off their foot and fall down the mountain!

Yet, More Glenwood Springs Pictures

This was our view from our hotel room. We stayed in the Marriott Residence Inn--one of the nicest hotels ever. I lost my pics of the hotel.

Taking pics down by the Colorado River--we would be rafting on these same spots later on.

This was a zipline that we almost did, but decided we would rather horseback ride. Even though the horseback riding didn't work out, we're still glad we didn't zipline, because it really didn't seem like that big of a deal--you just go once across the Colorado River.

We spotted this store as we drove around town. There was even a sign outside that said "Hash Sale Today." Yeah, we kept on driving...

This was at the Glenwood Springs Hotel Hot Springs Pool--one of the things Glenwood Springs is famous for. It's minerals that are supposed to help your health. Even though it was chilly because we went at night, the pool was so warm. There was a smaller pool that was really warm, you could only stand about 10 minutes in it, but the large pool was very comfortable.

More Anniversary Pics

Here are more pics from the anniversary trip Roger and I took to Glenwood Springs Colorado...

We hiked up a mountain to find a cemetery where Doc Holiday is supposed to be buried. He did live out his last years and then died in Glenwood Springs, but nobody know for sure if he is actually buried in this cemetery.

We were supposed to go horseback riding for an hour; something I was looking forward to more than the rafting. We showed up at our appointed time in the morning, along with another couple and waited and waited, but nobody was arriving. We weren't receiving reception for our phone, but the other couple finally found a spot for reception and starting calling. Finally someone was reached and we were told that because it had been lightly raining all night, the ride had been called off because it would have been too slippery for the horses. Okay, we understood that, but it sure would have been nice if someone would have called us before we arrived for the ride, or at least met us at the stables to let us know in person. Oh, I was really disappointed. The horses looked so healthy and nice, and the scenery would have been beautiful!

Rafting in Colorado

Here are a few pics from mine and Roger's anniversary trip to Glenwood Springs CO in August. This was my first time whitewater rafting and his 2nd--the first for him being in Canada. We are sitting in the back of the raft in front of the guide and we were with a very nice family of six. Our 3 hr. rafting trip was mostly calm, but about 30 minutes of it was a little rough. Can't wait to take the kids some day.
